Monisha Merchant for CU Regent

Colorado Roots - Global Vision

University of Colorado Regent Monisha Merchant is a Colorado native committed to providing our students access to quality public higher education. Monisha brings to the Board of Regents experience in engineering, science, business and international relations.

Understanding the power of education to change lives and communities, Monisha is a staunch advocate for children, especially for those growing up in underserved communities. She has worked with Colorado MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement), Latin American Services Agency (LARASA), and Big Brothers Big Sisters. In addition, Monisha has organized outreach programs such as Introduce a Girl to Engineering and Take Our Daughters to Work Day, and managed the Net Impact volunteer Service Corps program in Washington, DC.

Monisha grew up in Jefferson County and attended the Jeffco Public Schools. Monisha graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with degrees in electrical engineering and political science. She earned an MBA at Yale School of Management, with a focus on public sector and nonprofit management.
